HYBRID ROLE - one day in the office and one day for visits each week. ESSENTIAL CRITERIA - Knowledge and understanding of the legal aspects of housing management, rent arrears collection methods and Northgate. Ability to deal effectively with difficult customers both on the phone and face to face, remaining calm and professional at all times. Ability to work under pressure to meet all deadlines and key performance indicators set for the service. Experience of dealing sensitively and effectively with all sections of the community within a customer focused organisation. Experience of successfully managing rent arrears cases. THE ROLE - You will relish the opportunity to work within a busy and high performing Income Team. Your aim is to maximise rent and arrears collection by effectively manging a designated ‘patch’ of residential and non-residential accounts, ensuring the strict adherence to the pre court action protocol at all times. You will strive to meet collection targets in a challenging economic, social and political environment, whilst responding to the needs of vulnerable residents by providing advice and making the appropriate referrals to support agencies. You will also seek out and identify “good practice” for arrears recovery that can be implemented within the team. THE PERSON - We are looking for computer literate and numerically proficient individuals, with experience of using Northgate and Rentsense. You must have excellent written skills for preparing court documents, effective verbal communication and negotiation skills and the willingness and flexibility to work as part of a team to meet deadlines and provide cover whenever required.
