The role focuses on taking on complex safeguarding cases involving organisational abuse and other categories of abuse as well as safeguarding young adults who may not meet thresholds for adult mental health or learning disability services but are at risk of abuse, neglect, or exploitation. This is a hybrid role which includes both office and home working. Experience and knowledge in Adult Safeguarding is essential for this role. About the Role: • Provide professional advice and guidance at the borough’s High Risk Panel for young people transitioning into adulthood. • Offer expert support to partners across Health, Children’s Social Care, CAMHS, Adult Social Care, and the voluntary sector on risk mitigation and pathways into adult services. • Undertake Care Act assessments (Section 9) and safeguarding enquiries (Section 42). • Develop tailored safety plans addressing needs such as mental health, sexual health, and domestic abuse. • Work closely with partner agencies to ensure smooth transitions and access to community support, including housing, mental health, and employment services. • Lead quality improvement activity, including gathering feedback from young people and completing audits. • Carry out community outreach to strengthen partnerships and improve pathways of support. Skills & Experience • Experience working with young people and a genuine interest in supporting them through the transition to adulthood. • Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding legislation, and equality and diversity frameworks. • Skilled in strength based, person centred practice with experience completing holistic assessments and outcome focused plans. • Confident in risk assessment and safeguarding, able to manage complex situations and identify indicators of abuse or neglect. • Effective multi agency collaborator with experience working across children’s and adults’ services, health, mental health, housing, and the voluntary sector. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and involve young people and carers in decision making. • Strong organisational skills, including accurate record keeping and managing a varied caseload. • Creative problem solver who uses community resources and preventative approaches to promote independence. • Committed to professional development, reflective practice, and continuous improvement. • Values driven, demonstrating openness, accountability, collaboration, excellence, and respect. • Flexible and adaptable in response to service needs.
