This is an exciting opportunity to apply for a new Senior Substance use Worker post, part of a unique and innovative team -YCSMAS (Youth Counselling, Substance Misuse and Alcohol Service) working within Targeted Youth Support Service/Young Islington, an outstanding local Authority. You will be working alongside Islington Youth Justice Service and I-CAN (Islington Collaboration Action Network - formerly Islington Gangs Team) and the Violence Against Women & Girls Service to provide substance misuse support. This role also involves the development and delivery of training to professionals, parents and young people and organising outreach services for young people aged 12yrs - 21yrs. YCSMAS is an integrated team providing mental health and substance use support/education to over 200 young people per year. The service is dedicated to providing a holistic trauma informed wrap around service to young people in Islington. YCSMAS is a supportive, creative and young people focused team. In this role you will manage substance use practitioners, assess and manage referrals, duty, and case allocations, develop referral pathways, and manage case recording systems. You will provide specialist and clinical substance use guidance to colleagues and professionals and attend various multidisciplinary and multi-agency meetings. You will hold a small case load and assist in promoting the service to increase referrals. This role will include some of the following duties: • Managing IYPDAS duty, assessments, referrals, and allocations • Managing three IYPDAS team members • Keep up to date data records and case notes and auditing of case notes • Leading on outreach and partnership work • Liaising with stakeholders and commissioners • Quarterly reports • Developing and promoting the service • Holding a small case load
